Daleth further develops its trademark lo-fi sludge, a hammering wash of overdriven drums and guitars that lends the texture of speakers squarewaving into rupture. The songs progress confidently, often shifting to angular, atonal, quasi jazz-inflected avant-metal, lilting post-rock hazes, and crescendoing passages of subwoofer-wobbling trudges and stutters. All in all, Daleth produces a sonic tension between exhaustion and mania, and while Blue Shift deals in similar psychological themes, it is through the use of quite different materials--namely, cacophonic, beatless violin riffs recorded in the red. From piercing shrillness to anxious quietism, Blue Shift produces tones of neurosis so palpable that someone needs to redo The Shining with these seizuring violin lines accompanying Nicholson's mental collapse. Daleth has recently been destroying computer speakers world-wide, but "Lusitania" (2xCD-R), along with the split cassingle with Locrian, is now out of print. For those who missed out on "Lusitania", you can download the first disc (not the second) off the Daleth myspace page here! Be sure to check out the awesome reviews coming in! A split CD-R with Daleth / Blue Shift (Providence, RI) has been planned and is in the works. This should be ready sometime around Feb / Mar. The packaging will be fancy, so stay tuned! Following this release, Daleth will team up with Head of the Taurus (Germany) for another split (format TBA). We still have some Daleth T-shirt's left over from the package deal. After years of anticipation, we finally have the Daleth - "Lusitania" 2xCD-R's for sale. These EXTREMELY limited, hand numbered discs feature the original instrumental tracks on the first cd, while the second includes some of Joe's closest friends on vocals.
