A Static Lullaby
- "And Don't Forget to Breathe" CD ($3)
And Don't Forget To Breathe, the band's full length
debut, is their first proper release. It follows their self-produced "Withered" Ep
which they've been selling at shows and online for months. While "Withered" shows
a band at its genesis, . . . And Don't Forget To Breathe represents a huge leap
forward both musically and aesthetically. Produced by Steve Evetts (Snapcase,
Sepultura, Hatebreed), the full length is a totally different beast. Get ready
for an intense musical experience and be prepared to leave a little blood behind...
they always do. (Ferret Records)
AFI - "Sing
the Sorrow" CD ($4)
Starting life as the most competent Misfits tribute
band to not actually play Misfits songs, San Francisco Bay Area punks A.F.I.
have not only discovered how to write their own snarling melodies, but
have developed the confidence to play them without a cloak. Sing the Sorrow
marks the band’s first major-label
release and the difference from their indie albums is in the details: songs freely
shift gears and tempos, singer Davey Havok flexes his pristine vocal abilities
by breaking into the occasional falsetto, and sugary tracks like "The Leaving
Song" and "The Great Disappointment" now take a place next to
more standard nuclear-charged mosh-pit fare like "Bleed Black" and "Dancing
Through Sunday." Longtime fans might take it like a kick to the head, but
this band is clearly moving toward bigger things. (Dreamworks)
Against Me!
- "Crime" (Acoustic EP) CD ($7)

of catchy, poppy, sing-a-long, punk rock indie jams! Listen closely for
lots of new and fun instruments! They have evolved and created their own
amazing sound of beauty. Clean, noodly and melodic guitars, tight ballsy
ryhthym, and super catchy sung/yelled vocals round this out to be an absolutely
beautiful record. "Some
kind of Cadwallader" is the perfect soundtrack to a beautiful spring
day! Pack your car, roll down the windows, pop in the CD, and have a scream/sing-a-long
session with your friends! I guarantee this CD will not leave your stereo
for a long time! It is so good you just need to hear it over and over and

Buttons he has only perfected that. James Hernandez (bass) and Micah Daw (drums)
combine to form a powerful rhythm section and help create catchy bass lines
and ripping drums beats that you can shake your ass to. Reminiscent of the
Pixies, Wedding Present, and Superchunk, but refreshingly unique, these guys
are quickly becoming one of Gainesville's favorite bands. Every song on this
record will stick in your head: catchy, dance-y, and absolutely amazing live!
This is one of those records you put on in the morning if you want to be stoked

System, Idlewild, Dag Nasty, and J Church. This was recorded in Chicago by Matt

as much as it was catchy. This pressing consisted of 1100 in the same plastic
sleeve wallet packaging as the first pressing. (Rok Lok Records)
Death By Stereo
- "Into The Valley Of Death" CD ($3)
By tearing elements from every corner of the extreme music

concoction of furious drums, damaging bass lines, atom-splitting guitar riffs
and vocals that range from visceral growls to decibel-decimating screeches, “Into The Valley
Of Death” reiterates the fact that the word “genre” may be
struggling for its last breath. Simply put, this album is an intersection where
heavy metal and punk rock run stop signs at 100 mph and explode into one another!

F-Minus - "Wake
Up Screaming" CD ($4)
The third full length from this Southern California hardcore

Albini. (Hellcat Records)
Fake Problems
- "How Far Our Bodies Go" CD ($8)
A concept album about morality and driven by a love of
life and a fear of death, How Far Our Bodies Go, manages to tackle existential
subject matter in a way that doesn’t come off as preachy or pretentious.
In fact, metaphoric references to birth, travel, bones, weather, goals and
uncertainty litter the album, forming a patchwork of experiences that make
up one complete life experience. For fans of: Against Me!, The Good Life, Bright
Eyes, etc. (Sabot Records)
Fake Problems
- "Spurs And Spokes/Bull > Matador" CD EP ($6)
The CDep Spurs & Spokes/Bull > Matador compiles the band’s first
7-inch (which was initially released on Sabot Productions in August) alongside
four re-recorded songs from the band’s out-of-print debut CD—and
despite the fact that some of these songs were written years ago, there’s
a remarkable amount of variance from song to song. “Motion Of The Ocean” carelessly
careens like an existentialist hoe-down gone terribly awry; “Oh! Your Silver
Heart” is a heartfelt alt-country ballad reminiscent of Whiskeytown; and “Cannonball” is
reminiscent of Against Me!’s early material! (Sabot Records)
Filthy
White Trash - "Free Ride" CD ($2)
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Filthy White Trash is abrasive and unapologetic,
with fast loud sleazy hardcore punk rock songs similar to that of The Germs,
Mentors, and The Dwarves. This CD is a fast paced hellride that will not disappoint.
(Blackhouse Records)
Finch - "Falling
Into Place" CD ($1)
Finch offers up a sound that can easily be described as an energetic cross between
Jimmy Eat World, Glassjaw and Deftones. (Drive Thru Records)

of emotional elements. For fans of rock and roll, including but not limited to,

Glasseater -
"Self Titled" CD ($2)

definitely their finest work to date. This dynamo is jam-packed with hardcore
anthems unparalleled by prior releases. Glasseater's S/T also features Julio
(previously on drums) in the lead vocal position which offers a texture and
wholeness never before found within the band's sound. This is melodic hardcore
at it's finest! (Fearless Records)
Gerda - “Cosa
Dico Quando Non Parlo” CD ($3)
Blasting hardcore from Italy! For fans of Converge, Doomriders, etc. H-E-A-V-Y!
(Shove Records)
Glassjaw -
"Worship & Tribute" CD ($3)
Glassjaw are a five-piece rock band from Long Island, New York. Worship And Tribute
is their Warner Bros. Records debut album. Love it or hate it, there is nothing
comfortable, or mundane about Worship And Tribute. Picture Elvis Costello fronting
the Bad Brains or Morrissey singing with Fugazi. That may (or may not) clue you
in to what Worship And Tribute is all about. Painfully passionate and sonically
dense, Worship And Tribute is a unique post hardcore hybrid that should bridge
both new and old fans alike. (Warner Bros. Records)
Good Riddance
/ Kill Your Idols - "Split" CD ($4)
Jade Tree kicks off its new split single series by pairing two of today's most
distinguished ambassadors of east and west coast hardcore punk, GOOD RIDDANCE
and KILL YOUR IDOLS. California's GOOD RIDDANCE has spent a decade perfecting
their blend of traditional melodic punk and hardcore fury. Known as Fat Wreck
Chords' hardest working band, they have a trademark sound which channels astute
political and personal observations through rousing sing-along anthems. Their
4-song contribution showcases their rarely heard harder edged side. New York
City's KILL YOUR IDOLS provide 3 songs that carry on their tradition of blazing
hardcore while simultaneously showing an expanded penchant for melody. (Jade
Tree Records)
